About Me and DV

My name is Daria Tavana. I am a board-certified pelvic floor physical therapist who also specializes in lymphedema and orthopedics. I have found my passion in helping women understand their bodies, symptoms, and needs both physically and mentally, regardless of what age or stage of life they are in currently. There is a power that comes when a woman feels validated, understood and empowered in regards to what is happening in their own body.

My goal with Divine Vagine is to help spread the knowledge and experience I have accumulated in the eight years as a physical therapist. Working with thousands of women going through pregnancy, postpartum, & menopause I have seen the unfortunate reality of our healthcare system in regards to educating and advocating for women. In addition, the common story of symptoms of pain that go undiagnosed, unheard, or completely dismissed can only further perpetuate this lack trust in the medical world. I am hoping to build a safe space for women to feel listened to and empowered so that they can advocate for themselves.

Outside of being a physical therapist, I love staying active with yoga, running, lifting and boxing. I am half Puerto Rican and half Iranian, and take pride in my culture and addressing the disparities that exist in healthcare for women of color. It is important for me to make all my clients feel important and special on their journey. I look forward to meeting and working with you!
